God's love

Recently I wrote a song based on the Bible verse Isaiah 41:10. I wrote the song based on some of the emotions I was going through during my last semester as I was really stressed out because of classes and the uncertainties that lied ahead. Today, a friend of mine wrote to me thanking me for sharing the song. I was very encouraged by it as I had no intentions of the song touching anyone's life.

This brings me to realization of how often we underestimate how powerful God is. We often undermine His ability to use us to reach out to people. Sometimes we are fearful of taking the leap of faith even when felt led to do or share something. We often forget how we are all called to be disciples of God. I believe that everyone is equally capable of being disciples of God. Secondly, I would like to talk about how often we fail to encourage the people around us and thus failing to empower others. I am truly thankful that Denise Ngu shared how the song had impacted her! Had she not, I would not have realized all of these! It is really important to thank the people around if they've helped you in anyway.

If you've not heard the song, it can be found in the previous post ("Music is Life"). The song is titled "Fear Not".

What makes you drool? (Part 1)

Being far from home, other than missing friends and family, I find myself often times thinking of food back home. Today, I thought it would be nice to share with you guys some of the food I've been craving for!

1). Breakfast

Sometimes I like to start my day of simple. A piece of roti canai to go with my favorite mutton curry! ummm.. Just the thought of it makes my mouth waters. But wait.. lets not stop there.. there is no drink that goes better with my roti canai than a cup of teh ice. I may not know a lot about love.. but I have to say.. this combination is like a match made in heaven! The slightly salted roti canai goes so well with the tasty mutton curry! And if you are not a fan of mutton.. you can also try it with chicken or fish curry! the dal curry is also to die for! I know what you are thinking.. I like to eat sweet stuff in the morning.. well believe or not.. ask for a plate of sugar.. BAM! magic happens.. Roti Canai practically goes well with everything and anything. Ask them to put bananas in it or cheese or egg or sardine or onions.. it all taste amazing!

Another good way of starting my morning would be none other than the popular Nasi Lemak. I can almost smell the coconut milk from here. What I like most about Nasi Lemak is how the flavors go so well with one another. The peanuts and ikan bilis (anchovies) bring an extra crunch to the already flavorful rice. I am quite picky when it comes to the sambal. I like my sambal thick and not dilute. I like it to taste salty-sweet and spicy. The rice is so filled with flavor, I could eat it on its own. I would save most of the sambal to eat with the egg.. I LOVE EGGS. If you are thinking this is too much; too much flavor, too much taste.. well, not to worry! because the cucumbers are there for you! and if it is not enough for you, you can have my portion of cucumbers too! I still struggle eating my vegetables. When it comes to Nasi Lemak, I think my favorite drink to go with it is Teh-O-Ais-Limau (Sweet Tea with Lime).

Music is Life

Music has always been a big part of my life. My parents sent me for keyboard lessons when I was about 10years old. They even bought me a keyboard so that I could practice at home. Sadly, I only survived the keyboard lessons for about 4months before I decided that I wanted to quit.It was not until several years later when I was in high school (15years old), when a couple of my friends got together and decided that it would be a good idea to start a band together. Being a 15year old, desperate for attention paired with a huge surge of hormonal changes.. I was so excited when I heard about the initial idea and immediately agreed to be a part of it and pick up guitar lessons so that I could be the guitarist for the band. Initially, my parents were reluctant to send me for lessons and buy me an electric guitar due to horrible past experience with the keyboard still at the back of the storage room collecting dust. However, after a little persuasion, my parents agreed and they bought me my first Ibanez guitar along with a Roland microcube amp. IT WAS THE BOMB. Although my guitar lessons only lasted for a year as I injured my finger while playing basketball and I never got back to taking lessons after, I have to say that my passion for music started then.

These days during my free time, I enjoy making song covers. I love entertaining others and I also have a lot of fun making videos. I've long been inspired by many big youtube stars like Nigahiga, Kevjumba, Chestersee and Wongfu productions. Although I'm nothing compared to them, making videos have become one of my hobbies.
